Types of car chemicals

" alt="">

Car chemicals increase the efficiency of car care, simplify the process, and help to achieve excellent results with minimum effort. The need to use such products is associated with the loads to which various vehicle systems are subjected, with the influence of adverse external factors on vehicle body and interior trim. The use of special products prolongs the service life of components and paintwork.

What types of auto chemicals there are

Today, a wide range of automotive chemicals is produced. Each product is designed with the characteristics of the materials in mind and performs specific functions. This is why it is so important to choose the right products to solve a specific task. Failure to do so is likely to result in damage to the components and the need for repair or replacement. Car owners and service station technicians use the following types of car chemicals:

  • Products for vehicle body and paintwork care;
  • Interior care products;
  • Service auto chemicals needed to restore and maintain the functionality of mechanisms.

The products differ in properties and functions, and also packaging types. At the same time, any product comes with instructions for use developed by the manufacturer. Its recommendations must be strictly followed.

What are car body care products?

During operation, the car body becomes dirty. Road dust and reagents, direct sunlight and some other factors have a negative effect on the paintwork. Therefore, automotive chemicals should be used for cleaning:

  1. Glass surfaces, including windows, mirrors, headlights;
  2. Plastic parts;
  3. Chrome-plated elements;
  4. Components made of any materials.

Tires also need to be taken care of. Regular treatment with special formulations prevents cracking of the rubber, protects it from certain types of damage. Car chemicals can be used regularly for preventive purposes and as an additional solution in case of contamination.

How auto chemicals work on car body

There is less dirt in a car’s interior than on its body. Anyway, there are still dust particles that are inhaled by the driver and passengers. What is more, a dirty vehicle interior looks messy and sloppy. There are special types of automotive chemicals designed to remove contaminations that accumulate on:

  • Dashboard, which is usually a dusty spot;
  • Seat upholstery made of velour, textile, eco-leather or other materials;
  • Rubber parts that quickly deteriorate due to constant dirt;
  • Any other surfaces and interior trim elements.

Such products dissolve dirt and remove it — that’s how they work. Surfaces cannot be damaged if the product is chosen correctly. Such car chemicals are also characterized by a protective effect as they prevent the accumulation of static electricity, give materials water and dirt repellent properties, and neutralize unpleasant odours in the interior.

The use of auto chemicals for maintenance

The condition of all the systems and assemblies in a vehicle is something many drivers pay close attention to. Some activities that are necessary to maintain the operability of the mechanisms can be carried out through one’s individual effort and minimum skills. Nevertheless, it is worth taking precautions to effectively and safely remove technical fluids and other contaminants from the skin. For this purpose, hand cleaning pastes can be used. They contain components that can remove even the most challenging contaminants without harming the skin. Such products do not pose a risk of allergic reactions, do not dry out the skin and are suitable for use on a daily basis.

Car chemicals for car systems include:

  1. Carburettor and throttle cleaners that remove carbon deposits, soot and other contaminants and deposits from the system;
  2. Products for removing foreign particles from the surface of brake system components, such as discs and pads;
  3. Adhesives and threadlockers that can help with strong adhesion;
  4. Liquid Wrench, which is a product that facilitates parts’ dismantling.

These include sealing compounds that increase the reliability of connections and maintain performance over time, even when subjected to sudden temperature changes. All of the above automotive chemicals are designed to maintain and prolong the service life of mechanisms, assemblies and individual parts, as well as to prevent numerous malfunctions. The most important thing is to choose a product with suitable properties, then follow the rules of use.
